Competition Guidelines:

Individuals will compete in this category respecting the following guidelines:

• Each Contestant will need to prepare Five Songs (5 minutes/song Max.).
  • 2 songs for the first round
  • 1 song for the quarter-final
  • 1 song for the semi-final
  • 1 song for the final
• Each contestant is free to select his songs from any genre as long as it is in English. An assortment of styles is highly recommended
• Lyrics must not contain any profanity and/or political allusions.
• Each participant will need to start by introducing himself/herself, his/her school, and the title of the song he/she will be singing.
• Contestants should be trained to sing in an expressive & spirited way. They should be able to articulate well. They must be proficient with the use of microphones.
• The songs and lyrics must be memorized; no video screens will be used.
• Contestants should stay on stage (defined "Singing" area) while singing.

Song & Music Submission

• The Contestant must provide the Lyrics and the backing tracks for the 5 songs they have chosen to sing on a CD/USB or via transfer.
• The Contestant must provide the lyrics as PDF files.
• For the Backing Tracks the contestants may use commercialy produced ones, or record their own.
• The Backing Tracks may include background singers and/or harmonies.
• The deadline for material submission will be shared in due time.

Judging Criteria:

• Vocalists will be judged based on the criteria listed below:
  • Vocal Skills Includes:
    • Pitch and Breath Control; (15%)
    • Dynamics, Phrasing, Enunciation, and Tone; (15%)
    • Voice Range and Singing Intervals; (15%)
    • Ornaments and Embellishments added to the melody (10%)
  • Presentation Skills Includes:
    • Eye Contact, Body Expression, and Facial Expression, (15%)
    • Attire and Microphone technique (15%)
  • Choice of Material:
    • Song Suitability to the contestant's voice & style (15%)
